What is the Order of the Amaranth?

Order of the Amaranth Overview

 

The Order of the Amaranth is a fraternal organization composed of Master Masons and their properly qualified female relatives. In its teachings, the members are emphatically reminded of their duties to God, to their country and to their fellow beings. 

1. Eligibility:

  • Men who are Master Masons in good standing of a regular Lodge of the Masonic Fraternity.

  • Women who are relatives of past or present Master Masons in good standing of a regular Lodge of the Masonic Fraternity. The necessary relationship is by birth, marriage, or adoption.

  • Women who are majority members of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls® or Job’s Daughters International® or have been active for three (3) years, who have reached the age of 18.

  • Women who are at least 18 years of age and who are sponsored by two members, one Sister and one Brother.

2. Mission:

  • In the Order's teachings, the members are emphatically reminded of their duties to God, to their country, and to their fellow beings. They are urged to portray, by precept and example, their belief in the "Golden Rule" and by conforming to the virtues inherent in TRUTH, FAITH, WISDOM, and CHARITY, they can prove to others the goodness promulgated by the Order.

3. Charity is a guiding principle of the Order.

  •  The Order’s main charity is the Amaranth Diabetes Foundation, Inc. (ADF)

  • Grand Courts and local courts support many other charities.

▪ Scholarship Funds.

▪ Nurses’ Training.
▪ Care for the Elderly
▪ Soup Kitchens
▪ Ronald McDonald’s House
▪ Visiting Nurses, and
▪ Many other local community charities.


Conclusion

Fraternally, the Order endeavors to develop the moral character of its members through a belief in a Supreme Being and the teachings of the lessons of Truth, Faith, Wisdom and Charity.  Each member is taught to care for the welfare of her and his fellow members.
