  • Divan Members | ShrineTemplate

    Potentate The Potentate is, essentially, the President of our Shrine Chapter and is elected annually by the shrine members to lead our efforts. He is responsible to the Imperial Divan for the proper government of his Shrine Chapter and to ensure that officers and nobles observe Shrine Laws and the By-Laws of his Shrine Center. He is also responsible for the appointment of certain Shrine Officers and Committeemen, as well as the oversight of the same. Biography Chief Rabban The Chief Rabban is the 1st Vice President and assists the Potentate in his duties, standing in as his replacement if he is unavailable. He is also Chairman of the Finance and Fundraising Committees and prepares a budget for the ensuing year and submits it to the members for approval at the Shrine Center's Annual Meeting. He also assists the Hospital Chairman, as needed, and performs other duties as requested by the Potentate. Biography Assistant Rabban The Assistant Rabban is the 2nd Vice President and assists the Chief Rabban in his duties, standing in as a replacement if the Potentate and Chief Rabban are unavailable. He is also Vice Chairman of the Finance and Fundraising Committees and assists the Hospital Chairman, as needed, and can perform other duties as requested by the Potentate. Biography High Priest and Prophet The High Priest and Prophet is the 3rd Vice President and serves as the invocationist in the absence of the Chaplain. He aids Assistant Rabban and can perform other duties as requested by the Potentate. Biography Oriental Guide The Oriental Guide is the 4th Vice President and is in charge of fraternal relations by assisting with outreach to Blue Lodges, York and Scottish Rites, Order of the Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile, DeMolay, and the Widows Sons. He aids High Priest and Prophet and can perform other duties as requested by the Potentate. Biography Recorder The Recorder acts as the Corporate Secretary and recorder of all Divan and Shrine meetings and votes, ensuring that all aspects of our Shirne Center's operations are consistent with the rules, bylaws, and mandates of Shriners International. He also is the primary business manager of the Shrine Center, providing oversight, direction, and coordination of our office operations and staff. Biography Treasurer The Treasurer oversees all our Shrine Center's & Hospital finances, investments, and accounts under the control of our Shrine Chapter and ensures proper accounting of the same. Biography Meet The Divan Members The Divan Members are the Elected Shrine Leadership Board of Directors Potentate – This is the Chairman of the Board. It is an elected position. The Nobles, who are members, vote annually for their choice of Potentate. Chief Rabban – 1st Vice President. As with the Potentate, this is also an elected position. Assistant Rabban – 2nd Vice President. This is also an elected position. High Priest and Prophet – 3rd Vice President. Another elected position. Oriental Guide – 4th Vice President – Yet another elected position. Treasurer - Disburses approved funds Recorder - Serves as secretary to the board, and conducts day-to-day operations and much more.     The Order of the Amaranth is a Masonic-affiliated organization for Master Masons and their Ladies founded in 1873. Amaranth was based on the Order of Amarante created by Queen Christina of Sweden on 6 January 1653 for ladies and knights. What is the Order of the Amaranth ? Order of the Amaranth Overview The Order of the Amaranth is a fraternal organization composed of Master Masons and their properly qualified female relatives. In its teachings, the members are emphatically reminded of their duties to God, to their country and to their fellow beings. 1. Eligibility: Men who are Master Masons in good standing of a regular Lodge of the Masonic Fraternity. Women who are relatives of past or present Master Masons in good standing of a regular Lodge of the Masonic Fraternity. The necessary relationship is by birth, marriage, or adoption. Women who are majority members of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls® or Job’s Daughters International® or have been active for three (3) years, who have reached the age of 18. Women who are at least 18 years of age and who are sponsored by two members, one Sister and one Brother. 2. Mission: In the Order's teachings, the members are emphatically reminded of their duties to God, to their country, and to their fellow beings.
